THE LEGEND OF BARANGAY PAGSANAAN

As far back as the oldest folk of the Barangay can remember, there is no legend, or romance, or some things attached to the origin of the name of the place.It is a sandy areas.

The main source of living of the people is salt making which means “Agsana” in the local dialect. The sea beds and river beds of the Barangay are all suited to salt making that the produce of the place is more than enough for the whole town and other towns of Ilocos Sur. When people need salt they go and buy in the “Pagsanaan”.(Place where salt is made). Since then the Barangay was called Pagsanaan.
